for my sister Abby, on her 23rd birthday. my sister and i spent our childhood watching my mother sew...

this 45 sleeve was my mother's. she wrote her name on it, Ellen Zak. the butterflies are from a children's insect book. the older girl and the mother sewing are from a second reader, 1926 from the state of kansas. the younger girl is from a mother goose book that belonged to my aunt Carole. the tulips are from a story of goldilocks & the three bears. the fabric backing is from the lining of a vintage coat my mother gave me to use in a photo shoot for college.
