valentines 2013

 I found a box of blank note cards at Half Price Books. I was actually looking for thank you notes, but I thought they might make nice valentines. I like the vintage Mary Jane candy girl image a lot. Mary Jane candies have been around since 1914. It is a peanut butter and molasses flavored taffy-type candy with peanut butter in the center.

 The red paper is hand painted by my son, Athen, for a school art project, where he was making a collage of a praying mantis, these scraps were left over. The red thread is from my sewing kit.

This one makes my boys laugh, especially Asher.
